  • Carrying out a Children & Young People’s Survey
    CHILDWISE worked closely with a County Council to conduct an online survey with children aged 4 to 19 years across the County. Almost 5000 children and young people from over 50 schools and colleges took part, including those attending special schools and non school environments including Pupil Referral Units, Council support services, and Connexions. This was a follow up to a similar survey carried out two years previously.

  • Consultation with young people via a council youth event
    A London borough wished to explore the ways in which young people find out about services in their local area, and to discover more about their perceptions of community cohesion. The topic areas meant that more than a simple self completion questionnaire was needed, but budgets were limited. A local youth event offered the opportunity to consult with young people face to face.

  • Developing a Marketing Plan to raise awareness of activities for C & Y P
    Providing the right range of facilities and activities for C&YP is a challenge faced by many local authorities, but for this to succeed, it is vital to make sure that children find out about what is on offer.  Conventional information channels may not be the best approach, and the increasing importance of the internet and social networking in their lives offers both opportunities and challenges to those who want to make their voice heard.
